How to have a great first date

  1. Don’t assume that you can cuff it. Plan a first date and include an event, such as a movie, museum or walk, that has an end time. Make sure you factor in time to talk too.
  2. Ensure you have a buffer so you don’t spend the evening with just yourselves for company. Go to a jazz bar and listen to music or walk around an art gallery. Keep the focus off you for now.
  3. Have a list of subjects you can talk about. No one likes awkward silences nor do they want to hear you talk about your work. So think of your interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes.
